Acer is going to launch it’s 10-inch Aspire One 103 netbook and here are some leaked photos of the netbook. The Aspire One 103, like the original model, is powered by Intel’s Atom N280/270 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive. It features WiFi, and Bluetooth connectivity while 3G option is also available.
The specs are pretty much the same, but there is one very significant design cue that has been altered. Flipping over to the bottom, you’ll notice that the Aspire One 103 netbook has a series of panels that can be easily removed. This makes it much easier to upgrade components like the RAM and hard drive, so while the 103 isn’t upgraded out of the box, you can do it yourself quite easily.
A friend of mine picked up the Acer Aspire One on Boxing Day, saying that the inexpensive netbook would come in very handy during his commute on the train. He could catch up on his work, watch a few videos, and read a few PDF documents.
With an 8.9-inch display, the current Aspire One may be a little too small for some tastes and that’s why we’re looking at the 10-inch Acer Aspire One 103. This new netbook rocks a 10-inch display instead, offering an extra inch of on-screen real estate for better productivity and visibility.
If you were hoping that the one-inch upgrade would be accompanied by other upgrades, you’re going to be sorely disappointed. The actual guts of this little laptop are pretty much identical to its smaller cousin. You get a 1.6GHz Atom processor, 160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, multitouch trackpad, Bluetooth, WiFi, SDHC card reader, and optional 3G connectivity.
You can also expect a multi-touch touchpad, a SD/SDHC card reader, a webcam. It runs Windows XP. Some sources also mentioned that the 10-inch Aspire One 103 will be launched in February with a price tag of $399.
